Dutchy's® for the natural control of red poultry mites

Predatory mites are an effective and natural method for preventing and controlling blood mites in aviaries, cages, terrariums or stables. One package contains approx. 10 doses, which can be used to treat approx. 10 m² preventively or approx. 5 m² of already infested enclosures. The shelf life is a maximum of 7 days.

Hypoaspis miles (predatory mites)
Hypoaspis miles are soil-dwelling predators with a broad prey spectrum, including bird and blood mites. They are therefore ideally suited for use in terrariums, aviaries, chicken coops, etc. if biological control is desired.
The development from egg to sexually mature beneficial insect takes about 12 days at 25°C. A predatory mite consumes 5 blood mites per day and lays up to 3 eggs daily. The biological balance shifts in favour of the predatory mites, but to the detriment of the blood mites. Visible success occurs after just a few days. In many cases, the blood mites are completely eradicated within a few weeks. If there is a very high initial infestation, we recommend a follow-up treatment with additional predatory mites after approx. 6 weeks. The predatory mite can starve for several weeks (if there is a lack of prey), so a preventive use of these predatory mites is possible.
The control of snake mites, spider mites (tarantulas are very often infested) or mites with Dutchy's® has also proven successful in terrariums.

One package contains approximately 10 doses, enough to treat about 10 m² preventively or about 5 m² of already infested enclosures. The product has a shelf life of up to 7 days.
