Dutchy's (2,500) - Biological control of the red poultry mite with predatory mites
Attention: As these are live animals, unfortunately, payment by invoice or direct debit is not possible. This product is non-returnable!
Important instructions for application
1. Hold the bottle horizontally and slowly rotate it several times around its own axis. This will distribute the predatory mites evenly throughout the material.
2. Using the table below, calculate how many droppings should be placed in the cage or nest. Pour some material from the bottle into the cap. One full cap is sufficient for one application point. Carefully make a small dropping with this amount at the selected location.
3. Leave this pile undisturbed for at least 2 weeks. Every day, various predatory mites will migrate from the pile into the nest or cage.
4. Use all of the material. It is not possible to store it for extended periods, as the predatory mites will otherwise eat each other inside the bottle.
5. After releasing the animals, leave the empty bottle in the cage or nest for at least another day. Any predatory mites still inside will have a chance to crawl out.
Effective predatory mite control for terrariums and chicken coops: Dutchy's (2,500)
Hypoaspis miles (predatory mites) are soil-dwelling predators with a broad prey spectrum, which also includes bird mites and blood mites. Therefore, they are ideally suited for use in terrariums, aviaries, chicken coops, and other areas where biological control without the use of insecticides is desired.
The development from egg to sexually mature predatory mite takes about 12 days at a temperature of 25°C. The eggs and nymphs are white, while adult predatory mites are brown and up to 1 mm long. A single predatory mite can consume up to 5 blood mites per day and lays up to 3 eggs daily.
Biological control with Mite Boosters can influence the natural balance in favor of predatory mites and to the detriment of blood mites. Visible results can be seen after just a few days. In many cases, the blood mites are completely eradicated within a few weeks. In cases of heavy initial infestation, we recommend a follow-up treatment with additional Mite Boosters after approximately 6 weeks.
Predatory mites can survive for several weeks without food, making their preventative use possible. Controlling snake mites, spider mites (tarantulas are very often infested), or other mites with predatory mites has also proven effective in terrariums. Use Dutchy's (2,500) â containing approximately 2,500 predatory mites â for effective and biological pest control.
