Backs Diatomaceous Earth is an effective biological control agent against red mites and other crawling insects. Diatomaceous earth works exceptionally well against crawling pests, mites, tobacco beetles, mealworms, rice weevils, grain mites, grain beetles, and flat grain beetles. The fine powder made from fossilized plankton is effective even in high humidity. Direct contact with Backs Diatomaceous Earth destroys the mites' protective wax coating. This immediately immobilizes the pests, causing them to dry out. Due to its biological structure, resistance cannot develop.
