Large parakeets such as Rosellas, Cockatoos, Bourkes and Cockatiels eat medium-sized seeds, millet and some sunflower seeds. Here you'll find mixes, individual seeds, sprouting feed, egg food and minerals.
Mixes as Main Feed
From Deli Nature we stock in 20 kg sacks No. 30 Large Parakeet Base, No. 69 with Sunflower Seeds and No. 68 without Sunflower Seeds. The variety without sunflower seeds is chosen by keepers who want to control the proportion of oil-rich seeds themselves. For sprouting feed, there is Prestige Sprouting Feed Parakeets & Exotics.
Individual Seeds for Supplementing
Red Milo, Thistle Seed, Yellow Millet and Canary Seed we pack as Eurital in 2.5 kg and 5 kg. Spray Millet is available in 1 kg and 5 kg.
Egg Food and Hand-Rearing
For breeding season there is Deli Nature Wet Egg Food for Large Parakeets & Parrots and Quiko Egg Food Classic, all varieties under Egg Food for Birds. For hand-rearing we stock Nutribird A21.
Grit, Minerals and Bird Sand
Grit and the Orlux Mineral Bloc supplement grain feed. Bird Sand is available from 1.75 kg to 25 kg. More ornamental birds can be found under Ornamental Bird Feed.
Which Container Size?
For one or two birds, individual seeds in 2.5 kg and spray millet in 1 kg are sufficient. For those keeping or breeding multiple birds, the large sacks of 15 to 20 kg offer better value per kilo.
