Why is hygiene in drinking water so important for humans and animals (homing pigeons)?

The digestive tract is by far the largest entry point for all kinds of germs. Clean and uncontaminated drinking water for humans and animals is the fundamental prerequisite for health and well-being. Life-threatening problems caused by contaminated drinking water, such as those resulting from natural disasters, occur repeatedly. Fatal diseases, such as E. coli, cholera, and other infections, are frequently the consequence of contaminated drinking water in these situations. Everyone is generally aware of the importance of hygienically safe drinking water. In pigeon racing, even greater attention should be paid to drinking water.

What is RopAdeno®?

RopAdeno® is water treated with a novel electrolysis process, resulting in unique properties. This special technology, which involves the subsequent treatment of the water with an electric current, produces, among other things, hyperchlorous acid, one of the most powerful and, at the same time, most biocompatible disinfectants. It is only because of this excellent biocompatibility that RopAdeno® is permitted to be added to drinking water.

RopAdeno® is many times more effective than hyperchlorous acid alone, and with its near-neutral pH, it is also non-corrosive. A portion of the electrically added energy remains in the molecules and substances, which then attempt to discharge back into equilibrium in the normal environment. This high energy charge has been stored in a bottle for an extended period for the first time with RopAdeno® and is demonstrably measurable as a redox potential. The process of disinfecting water through electrolysis is not new. However, previously, the charge simply neutralized itself after a short time, sometimes even after just a few hours, rendering it ineffective against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores. What is new is that RopAdeno® is the first product to be produced that is stable and effective over a long period, thus offering the market a truly marketable product. This new process is based on several patents.

Why does RopAdeno® work?

When the positively charged RopAdeno®, a cocktail of electrical charge and hyperchlorous acid, comes into contact with microorganisms, it uses the negatively charged molecules in their cells to neutralize the charge. Additionally, it attacks components of the cell wall, making it permeable. The attraction (magnetism) of the negatively charged cell contents through the attacked cell wall destroys it, and the bacteria are killed almost instantly. This prevents the development of resistance.
RopAdeno® works against all bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores within a very short time.

Furthermore, RopAdeno® dissolves the biofilm in water troughs, in which pathogens can also become trapped. Once a pathogen has been present in the water pipes, even clean drinking water can be immediately recontaminated by pathogens residing in the biofilm of a water pipe. This problem of pathogens becoming established in water pipes can occur virtually anywhere. It is likely also a significant problem in transport vehicles for racing pigeons.

Legislation permits a 3% addition (30 ml/1 liter) of RopAdeno® to drinking water and classifies this as completely safe for humans and animals. This dosage provides reliable protection against the transmission of diseases through drinking water. The intestinal flora is maintained, and the animals remain healthy because they are protected from and freed from unwanted germs.
A higher dosage would also be possible in the short term during the acute phase of the disease. However, in practice, even a daily dosage of just 10-15 ml per liter of drinking water has shown that, for the first time, breeders who were plagued by the disease every year experienced no outbreaks. Many of these breeders were even able to completely forgo the use of antibiotics for the first time. RopAdeno® has been used with overwhelming success by many internationally renowned breeders in recent years.

So why use RopAdeno® in water troughs or pigeon transport vehicles?

All pigeons carry loft-specific pathogens in the form of germs, bacteria, or viruses. When many pigeons gather together, as is often the case with young birds, they logically have many different pathogens in their drinking water within a short time. These pathogens multiply rapidly and are then ingested by all the other pigeons via their gastrointestinal tracts. This problem has been known for some time and is referred to in technical terms as "crowding."

RopAdeno® kills ALL these pathogens instantly and keeps your drinking troughs clean without harming the pigeons. This means the pathogens are no longer transmitted via the drinking water and cannot accumulate in the troughs.
