Eurital French Yellow Millet for Healthy and Happy Birds 1kg

French yellow millet sprays 1kg - Single feed for healthy and happy birds

What is yellow millet?

Yellow millet sprays are unthreshed seed heads, in which the seeds are still in their natural packaging. This means the birds have to work a little for their food by picking the individual grains from the seed head, or spray. Therefore, this is a natural way for them to feed.

Why is millet spray good for birds?

The small seeds of millet attract small birds such as sparrows, finches, goldfinches and dunnocks, and are also a delicacy for all ornamental birds such as budgies, cockatiels, exotic birds and parrots.

Feeding recommendation

Offer millet sprays to the birds as a treat in small quantities. Although millet is relatively low in fat, it can lead to obesity in birds if consumed in large amounts. It is important to ensure a balanced diet.

Nutritional information for millet sprays

Millet is relatively low in fat. On average, 100g of millet contains a maximum of 4g of fat – in comparison, sunflower seeds contain about 50g of fat per 100g. Therefore, millet sprays should only be offered in small quantities as an occasional treat. If birds were allowed to eat large amounts of millet sprays or panicles daily, many would reject other foods and consume only the popular millet. This would soon lead to a significant nutrient deficiency, as their diet would be too unbalanced.
