Single feed for birds
The pea (Pisum sativum) belongs to the subfamily Faboideae within the legume family. Protein-rich peas have therefore been an important crop for humans and animals for millennia. The 3-12 cm long pods of these legumes contain an average of 4-10 seeds, the actual edible peas, which come in various colors depending on the variety and stage of ripeness: yellow peas, green peas, brownish peas, and, less commonly, black peas.
Peas are rich in essential amino acids, such as cysteine, methionine, lysine, isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. Peas are also rich in minerals, including calcium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium, iron, manganese, and copper.
Instructions for use: Yellow peas generally contain slightly more starch than green peas and are a popular feed component among pigeon breeders, especially during breeding and racing seasons. They are well-suited for mixing into individual feeding plans.
Legumes, such as peas, can be used in homemade cooked food for parrots or mash.
