Willow bark contains salicylic alcohol glycosides, flavonoids, phenolic acids, and tannins. Salicin is broken down in the intestines into salicylic alcohol and glucose, and then converted in the liver to salicylic acid, the active ingredient in aspirin. Unfortunately, we are not permitted to comment on how willow bark affects pigeons. However, we recommend its use during cold, wet weather and before pairing.

Instructions for proper use: Steep 1 heaped tablespoon of willow bark in 1 liter of cold water and slowly heat to a boil. Then remove from the heat and let steep for another 5 minutes. Allow the tea to cool and add it undiluted to the drinking water. We recommend feeding it on two consecutive days before pairing and before racing. During racing, feed it on one day after the flight, during molting every four weeks on two consecutive days, and for weaned young pigeons also every four weeks on two consecutive days.
